I’ve been struck lately by how smoothie bowls are taking over Instagram. Are they delicious or simply beautiful? Why did someone put a smoothie in a bowl?! As the curious person that I am, I had to see what was so wonderful about these beautiful bowls…so, I created my very own berry delicious smoothie bowl.
My verdict: Yummy!
I decided to stick with something simple. Something that I already had all of the ingredients to and that was sure to fill me up for a few hours.
Here’s what you’ll need for the berry delicious smoothie bowl:
- 1 Cup of blueberry yogurt
- 1 Cup frozen berries
- Orange juice as needed
- 1 Peach
- ½ Banana
- A handful of blueberries
- 2 Cherry’s
- 1 Tablespoon of shaved almonds
- 1 Tablespoon of Skinny B mixture
I began by blending all of the smoothie ingredients together. Once blended, I simply placed all of my toppings on the top of the bowl. And look at that, you’re done.
I tried to stick with ingredients that were straight from the ground and that would provide substance to get me through the morning; Skinny B has chia seeds and banana’s keep me filled longer than other fruits.
Since making this bowl it has gotten me so excited for what smoothie bowls I could create for the fall. I loved this one, but it will be a tad chilly for the winter months. Just think; warm coconut milk, banana, and pumpkin blended together with oatmeal, cinnamon and peanut butter drizzled on top…yum!
