Merry Christmas Eve!
I can’t vouch for the rest of the world, but we are experiencing unusually warm weather here in Toronto. Every time that I think we might just be getting a glorious snow storm…it shoots up to 10 degrees. Come on snow!
So not only does it look super festive here, its also really easy to dress for. As if!
A couple of weeks back my girls and I went down to the Distillery to get ourselves into the Christmas spirit. It’s needless to say that the Distillery does an incredible job at Christmas. Twinkle lights, the most glorious hot chocolate, Carollers, the list can go on!
The only downfall about the Distillery, is that, much like our current weather, you have to end up dressing for both day and night (aka warm and cold) because you can spend hours there.
I made the disastrous mistake of forgetting a pair of gloves and basically froze my fingers off once the sun had gone down. My first suggestion: bring a light pair of gloves. We’re not talking Tundra weather here, but still, its a little nippy out there at night.
Fortunately, Balzac’s, a darling little coffee shop helped bring my hands back to life with one of the tastiest Chai Tea Latte’s I have ever had.
After warming up, we wandered around buying presents for our loved ones and slowly added on more layers as the sun set.
So, how does one define nice…?
Don’t you love this little hat? I feel like a big kid wearing it and its the perfect level of warmth for a night like this one.
In my opinion, the Distillery real comes to life at night. The lights are all that much brighter, the tree sparkles, and cheeky little signs become the centre of attention.
I know there is hardly any time left before the season is over, but if you haven’t yet, try and get your little booty over to the Distillery. You will not regret it.
I’m in the midst of packing for a trip I’m taking next week…any suggestions on how to pack lightly for a winter destination? Let’s just say I’m not the best at packing lightly…HELP!
